A Revenue Model Swipe File, and formulas livestream tomorrow!

Hey Reader,

One thing that Notion is BRILLIANT at is creating shareable resource libraries.

Jay Clouse did an amazing job on this Notion-based Revenue Model Swipe File, a resource containing 100+ products from 80+ top creators. It's designed to give you inspiration to help you design your own robust revenue model by exploring what's already out there.

Why it's awesome:

  • It's a public document that isn't duplicable, but is designed to be sharable! Jay can update the information over time, and even use it for linking to a paid upsell if he wants to.
  • Jay included a really personable video intro which is engaging and give you a chance to get to know him. It also gives a full 5-min walk through of how to utilize the resource.
  • It's super simple. There aren't a ton of complicated databases or linked views; you don't need to be Notion expert to be able to explore the resource and get value from it.
  • It positions Jay as a helpful expert. It's a fantastic and generous piece of marketing.
  • It includes links to Jay's work and social profiles, and encourages others to share the resource, which helps Jay get more eyeballs on his work.
  • It includes a super user-friendly form to submit product ideas for consideration using Tally.so (which we love!).

Sure, there's some up-front data entry that does into the initial creation, but this is a living document that can continue to give value to your audience for very little effort!

This is absolutely the kind of data entry you could hire someone to support you with.

Do you have a cool public Notion resource that you share with your audience?

Reply and send me the link, and I'll share it in a roundup in my next newsletter. I love giving people ideas and inspiration for ways to create value at scale!

Speaking of value...

Notion Formulas 2.0

My husband and fellow Notion expert, Benjamin Borowski, is going to help you and I figure out Notion's new formula engine in a livestream tomorrow at 10am PDT (Pacific).

He'll cover what's changed in the new syntax, what you can do now that you couldn't do before, and he'll answer questions (both yours and mine!) in real time.

If you've got questions, he's got the answers. Let's have some fun with formulas shall we?

Hopefully see you there tomorrow!

Have a great week!

(P.S. Thank you for the flood of super kind messages I received last week; I really appreciated it!)

Productive by Nature Can permaculture thinking help us better work with our natural creative rhythms? Hey Reader, Have you ever noticed how some days ideas flow effortlessly, while on others, extracting a single coherent thought feels like pulling teeth? For years, I approached this inconsistency as a problem to be solved. A personal failing, if you will. I'd force myself to stick to rigid schedules, push through creative blocks with sheer willpower, and feel guilty when my output didn't...

Digital Spring Cleaning A Digital deep clean can be a way to find a slice of calm in a chaotic times. Hey Reader, Last week, just as I was getting ready to dive into a productive work session, I noticed my Mac’s spinning beach ball of death. My computer was lagging badly. Apps were misbehaving—my screenshot software wouldn’t open, Adobe suite was crashing, and I discovered my email hadn’t been syncing for days. Everything was either crawling along or completely frozen. I couldn’t access the...

Happy Valentine's Day, from Lumon

A cheeky gift In this newsletter: a Severance-themed Valentine's gift, two Notion videos, and a new podcast episode. Hey Reader, This week I'm sending you some cheeky Severance-inspired valentines! Feel free to share these with your work besties, your favorite “innies” and “outies,” or anyone who appreciates a good workplace dystopia reference. After all, nothing says “I value our professional relationship” quite like a Valentine’s Day card inspired by a show about corporate-mandated...
